RED CROSS TRAINING SERVICES
We empower people to learn skills and use them to save lives in emergencies. The Red Cross
has been creating courses and training people in first aid for more than 100 years.
On average, more than 4.5 million people a year receive Red Cross training in first aid,
water safety and other skills that help save lives.
Last year, we honored over 500 individuals for their heroic efforts to save or sustain a
Accidents and emergencies can happen to anyone, anytime. We encourage everyone to learn
first aid, CPR and how to use an AED, so they can act in an emergency. Every second counts,
so people need to know what to do until medical help arrives.
The Red Cross offers a variety of online, in-classroom and blended courses that include
online content and an in-person skills session.
Course participants learn how to perform CPR, help someone who is choking, control
bleeding, and treat someone having a heart attack and more.
On-site training is also available for groups, or an organization can have someone
become an instructor and train their colleagues. We have a long history of empowering
people to save lives, and we continue to address today’s urgent needs with new
programs and resources.
The Red Cross first aid skill for Amazon Alexa gives users valuable advice and tips to
prepare for many emergency situations that they may face.
OTHER COURSES – ALL AVAILABLE ONLINE
We developed two online courses on returning to work and Psychological First Aid
during COVID-19 as part of our commitment to help those in times of crisis.
First Aid for Opioid Overdoses is an online course to teach people how to respond to a
known or suspected opioid overdose.
The Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Course gives 11- to 15-year-olds the skills and
confidence to safely and responsibly care for children and infants, as well as some
business tools to help them get started.
We even have an online Cat and Dog First Aid course and a Pet First Aid app.
